RealCME Presentation at the 2017 Alliance Industry Summit (AIS)

RealCME was excited to co-present a session titled Collaborating Across Stakeholders to Effect and Measure Change, at the 2017 Alliance Industry Summit (AIS) on May 23, 2017 in Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Karyn Ruiz-Cordell (Chief Data Scientist at RealCME co-presented with Dr. Jacqueline Brooks, (SVP Medical Strategy at RMEI Medical Education, LLC) and Laura Wingate (Vice President, Education, Support & Advocacy Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation). The presentation provided perspectives from each of the different stakeholder groups, who collaborated to design and implement a curriculum on IBD.

The initiative included a series of two half-day meetings on IBD that included dual healthcare professional (HCP) and patient/caregiver tracks, with a video-based enduring program for HCPs. The HCP track included updated clinical information, presentation of patient cases, and interactive ARS questions. The patient track included clinical updates and discussion of personalized and collaborative care in their management.

At the end of each track, the groups converged for a panel discussion. HCPs were not made aware that the cases being discussed during the HCP track were real patients who subsequently participated in the panel discussion, during which all learners were also encouraged to discuss their experiences relating to collaborative care, including success stories and barriers.

The AIS panel presentation will describe our collaborative process and the innovative instructional design of the curriculum, along with lessons learned from the experience. Outcomes data that demonstrate the impact on clinical change will be presented from the live meeting series and the online program. We will also discuss incorporating more effective measures for programs like this and plans to include patient outcomes moving forward.
